Healing Food, Healing Love

About this drama

Independent food editor Shen Ying unexpectedly crosses paths with Zheng Dao, a sharp-tongued and demanding culinary expert. While working together on a gourmet magazine project, their professional rivalry gradually turns into mutual support as they bond over their shared dedication to healthy cuisine. Through the healing power of food, the two navigate workplace challenges and personal growth to find a sweet, comforting romance.

Who this is for

Viewers who want a short, low-stress workplace romance between a warm editor and a prickly food expert, with mature leads who talk things through instead of fighting for ten episodes. Skip it if the title has you expecting a food-centred show, since reviewers say the cooking takes a back seat to office politics, or if you want something memorable rather than pleasant.

Our take

A 23-episode iQIYI rom-com about a food magazine editor paired with the demanding head of its gourmet section. Reviewers like the leads' dynamic and chemistry, and appreciate that the romance avoids shouting matches and drawn-out misunderstandings, with rival love interests handled quickly. The common complaints are that it settles into a company-focused story with little attention to the leads' personal lives, that there is surprisingly little food for a food drama, and that the closing competition glosses over obvious conflict-of-interest problems. Most reviews land on pleasant but not especially memorable.

Pacing & content notes

Compact at 23 half-hour episodes; reviewers describe the middle as light and free of long misunderstandings, but say the story drifts toward company business and the last episode overdoes the drama.
