About this drama
Directed by Yu Cuihua and written by Mobaofeibao, this drama stars Jing Boran and Tan Songyun. Based on a novel of the same name, the story follows investment director Gui Xiao and bomb tech police officer Lu Yan Chen who reunite ten years after their initial romance.
Who this is for
Made for viewers who like quiet, grown-up romance: a couple who reunite early, stay devoted and show affection openly, with very little melodrama. Skip it if you need a strong plot, real action from the police storyline, or a brisk pace.
Our take
Jing Boran and Seven Tan get near-universal praise for their chemistry, and many viewers single out how naturally affectionate and mature the couple is, with a female lead who pursues openly and a hero who shows love through actions. The snowy northwest and desert locations are a highlight. The main complaint is that there is very little story: a lot of runtime goes to lingering looks and repeated flashbacks, and the bomb-squad side plot is light on action and realism. Opinions split sharply between those who find the slowness soothing and those who call it draggy, especially near the end.
Pacing & content notes
Slow throughout by design; reviewers cite long gazes, scenery and heavily repeated flashbacks, and several say the last five episodes drag, with episode 30 largely replaying earlier scenes.
